The interior trim is moving along. The stairs are complete, porch ceiling, and balcony ceilings are done. The fiberglass GelCoat was installed on the rooftop observation decks – this is a material I have not used before. Previously on flat decks over living space I have used ‘HydroStop’ – a cloth and latex product that is very reliable but requires periodic re-coating. The GelCoat finish is a resin over fiberglass material and should be maintenance free – like the deck of a boat. Tile and light fixtures have been ordered. The plumber was out yesterday to connect the drain line to the new vacuum sewer system Fripp Island installed over the winter. They are paving the roads now – just in time. The visitors to Fripp have increased over the schools spring breaks, and traffic is getting congested. I have a feeling it is going to be a busy summer season.
