November 30th

Made it though the Thanksgiving holiday. Always a lot of down time during the season - the flip side of being a contractor is that the holidays are so unproductive that it takes the fun out of having time off.

We passed the framing and strapping inspection. The windows and doors are set and the roofing is on site - a galvalumn metal roof that will begin going in on Monday . The framing stage is complete.

The plumbers have started their rough-in. Electricians will begin on Monday, and HVAC as soon as the roof is complete. Last Friday the lighting control company representatives and the electricians met with me on site to walk-through the control system - it is a very high-tech piece of the infrastructure of the house and should greatly enhance the ambiance. Oddly enough, the wiring of the system is simpler than a conventional system but instead of wall switches we will have programmable six button keypads capable of setting a variety of lighting scenes.

Also I engaged a home theater consultant to lay-out the speaker and projector placements in the theater room. The schedule is running right on time thus far.
